Allan H. Eaton, 87, of Decatur, IL passed away at 9:37 p.m. on Tuesday (July 20, 2010) at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday (July 24, 2010) at the Second Church of God. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday (July 23, 2010) at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Second Church of God Building Fund or the American Heart Association. Mr. Eaton was born on January 1, 1923 in Austin Township, IL, the son of Walter F. and Ethel (Galyean) Eaton. He was a machinist for thirty-nine years at A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company and was the owner of Eaton Electric. He proudly served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and in the National Guard during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling and antique cars. He was a member of the Second Church of God, Central Illinois Horseless Carriage Club, American Legion, D.A.V. and Veterans of the Korean War. He married Ruth Marie Wright on November 24, 1946. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2003.

Surviving are his children: Budd (Shelly) Eaton of Decatur, IL, Deborah A. (Daniel) Kuntz of Brimfield, IL; sister: Eva G. Gillespie of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Matthew (Pam) Kuntz of Germantown Hills, IL, B.J. Eaton of Decatur, IL, Ryan Kreke and his fiancé Stephanie Beck of Decatur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers: Everett W. Eaton and Clifford Eaton, sister: Ruth A. Rambo and one grandson: Adam Kuntz.
